About AAA
Auckland Asian Association
AAA is an Incorporated Society, a non-profit organisation in New Zealand. The main purpose of AAA is to build and support the social well-being of Asian in Auckland through community services, community education and training and community development.
AAA established on 14th of March 2014. AAA is working to represent collective voices of Asians communities in Auckland. Member of this association are individuals who are currently residing in Auckland.
AAA vision is to be the premier and leading organization for Asians in Auckland. AAA aims to build character and strong commitment among Asians towards excellence in professional development, community service and cultural awareness. By combining diverse skills, talents and resources to support our common goals, AAA strives to benefit not only the Asian community, but also the society at large. Ultimately, AAA hopes to create a unified sense of identity and voice among all Asians. According to the NZ 2013 census, 60% of New Zealand Asians lives in Auckland. They comprise about 23% of the city population. Thus, Asians will continue to impact the social, cultural, economic and political landscape of NZ.AAA is strategically positioning Asians in Auckland to increase capacity for action and co-operation to meet the challenges ahead. AAA will be “an enabler” to hasten the process for Asians to come together, connect with one another and engage in tackling issues to enhance their significance in Auckland.

The Founding of AAA
On 30th August 2014, the Founding Conference of the Auckland Asian Association was held at Auckland. More than 150 people including First President of the Auckland Asian Association Peter Wenhui Chen, New Zealand Race Relations Commissioner Susan Devoy, and the Chinese Consul General in Auckland Niu Qingbao attended the ceremony.Consul General Niu delivered a speech, he congratulated the establishment of the Auckland Asian Association and hoped that through unremitting efforts, all members of theassociation would promote it to become a link to connecting Asian people in Auckland, assist the majority of Asian people, including Chinese immigrants, to develop and live better in New Zealand, make greater contribution to the social development of New Zealand and the harmonious coexistence of all ethnic groups.
